Phat Buddha: Roots

Spring 2005, Alissa Benishai was looking for a path in life that would simultaneously fill her soul and tighten her abs. She found a yoga studio in the heart of Delray Beach, Fl unawares that the practice of yoga would lead her on the most extraordinary journey.

Her daily routine changed, practicing day after day with her confidence growing and becoming more flexible. Alissa found that she could begin to face the world with better sense, patience and self love. After 2 years of practice she decided to complete the circle by giving back that which had been so freely given to her. She embarked upon Bikram Yoga training in Waikiki, Hawaii in fall 2007 and on returning to her New York playground, she began to teach BY NY style.

Coming from generations in the garment trade, Alissa was unable to fight the calling
of her blood. She saw that all of her students were either wearing baggy cottons or “speedos”, which either hindered movement or let too much fall out. There was no
yoga wear that was made of suitable materials, affordable and fashion forward.

As a result, Phat Buddha was created and is made by yogis for yogis. Offer your
